Compliance Statement
Level AA compliance can be achieved using the Image Gallery component, see Restrictions for more information.
Restrictions
MUST:
- Have Alt text defined for each image.
- The alternative text for informative images MUST be meaningful (accurately conveying the purpose of the image and the author's intent in a way that is useful to those who cannot see the image).
SHOULD:
- Alt text SHOULD describe the image
- Alt text SHOULD be unique from the title.
- The length of the alternative text for informative images SHOULD be concise (no more than about 250 characters).
SHOULD NOT:
- Use Action Text such as "Click Here" it should be descriptive of Action Result such as "Download File"
- Alternate text SHOULD NOT include words that identify the image as a graphic or image, such as "image of a cat."
- Alternate text SHOULD NOT be used to key word stuff for SEO purposes.
