Compliance Statement
Level AA compliance CAN be achieved using the Video component, see Restrictions for more information.
Restrictions
MUST:
- Pre-recorded Multimedia MUST have Captions available.
- Pre-recorded Multimedia MUST have Audio Descriptions.
- Pre-recorded Video-only MUST have Audio Descriptions.
- Pre-recorded Audio-only MUST have a Transcript available.
SHOULD:
- Pre-recorded Multimedia SHOULD have a Transcript available.
- Pre-recorded Video-only SHOULD have a Transcript available.
MUST NOT:
- MUST NOT contain content that flashes more than 3 times per second.
- Video content can be evaluated using a Photosensitive Epilepsy Analysis Tool (opens in a new window).
YouTube and Vimeo don't support a seperate Audio Descriptions track. If using pre-recorded multimedia or pre-recorded video-only, provide an alternative video with Audio Descriptions as part of the video/captions. Provide a link to the alternate video.
Auto playing videos with sound is highly discouraged. Playing audio automatically when landing on a page may affect a screen reader user's ability to find the mechanism to stop it because they navigate by listening and automatically started sounds might interfere with that navigation.
